PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) student broadcasters delivered winning performances in news broadcasting, securing top honors in the Panabo City Press Freedom 2026 Interschool News Broadcasting Competition (College Category – Open for Davao Region) held on August 29, 2026, at the Freedom Gym, Panabo City.
Representing DNSC, Mhaurien R. Codio-an, a fourth-year Bachelor of Arts in Communication (BACOMM) student, won first place and was also named Best in Broadcasting Delivery in Filipino and Cebuano.
Edrian Jake Silutan, a second-year BACOMM student, placed third in the competition.
A virtual screening was conducted on August 13, drawing 39 participants from across the region. Following the screening, 15 finalists advanced to the final round, where the top three winners were determined.
The panel of judges included Cherelle B. Espinosa, Renz Barbarona, and Jandi Esteban.
Codio-an and Silutan were coached by Saimehen Lloid P. Iluis, who guided the students through the competition’s preparation and performance stages.
