PANABO CITY — Davao del Norte State College, through its Human Resource Management Division (HRMD), welcomed new personnel with a two-day orientation on academic and non-academic policies, Gender and Development (GAD) principles, and the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System on August 27–28, 2026, at the DNSC Audio-Visual Room.
Opening the activity, Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Reir Erlinda E. Cutad talked about the importance of human resources in strengthening the institution, “I invite you to think of this two-day orientation as a seed. And your heart as the good soil where that seed can take root, grow, and bear fruit. In any organization, human resources are among its most valuable assets. Here in the college, we strongly believe in that perspective.”
The sessions covered institutional policies, employee welfare, administrative procedures, and workplace responsibilities. GAD Coordinator Sadie D. Law-ay tackled GAD Concepts and Principles, while Environmental Committee Head Nezel Ann L. Bantayan presented the College’s Environmental Policy on Single-Use Plastic.
College Nurse Gemma G. Cervantes covered health services and protocols, followed by Finance Services Division Director Dr. Marck Lester L. Navales, who detailed finance policies and processes. HRMD representatives Raquel J. Edjec, Lady Mae D. Guimere, Joan Beverly G. Navarrete, and Monaliza Donaire presented policies on working hours, leave administration, learning and development procedures, the Mental Health and Wellness Program, faculty and staff scholarship, and SALN submission.
College Librarian Paulina T. Baba introduced library services and resources, while Information and Communication Technology Services Division Director Ian Jay T. Padios addressed data privacy and cybersecurity awareness. Information Systems Analyst II Gretchen B. Olivar provided an overview of the Supply Information System and Human Resource Information System, familiarizing personnel with digital platforms used in administrative transactions.
Quality assurance and public service standards also formed part of the program. Quality Assurance Director Joena Marie A. Martinez presented the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, while Director for Institutional Planning and Project Development Joshua P. Elardo covered Citizen’s Charter awareness.
During the closing session, Dir. Edjec encouraged the new personnel to approach their roles with openness, diligence, and a commitment to continuous learning.
“Starting a new job is both exciting and challenging. There may be a lot to learn, but always remember that you are not expected to know everything right away. As you begin this new chapter, may you always perform your duties with integrity, professionalism, commitment, and a genuine desire to serve,” the HRMD director said.
