
PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College, through the Institute of Computing and the Technology Support Services Unit, celebrated National ICT Month 2026 with a series of activities on June 30, 2026, highlighting digital innovation and artificial intelligence under the theme, “Isang Dekadang Digital: Konektado sa Puso, Serbisyo”.
The program opened with a message from Institute of Computing Dean, Dr. Mark Van M. Buladaco, who talked about the growing role of technology in transforming higher education, “Technology is no longer just a supplementary tool in higher education; it is the infrastructure that drives it. Artificial Intelligence is rapidly shifting how we analyze data, conduct research, and approach problem-solving.”
It was followed by a discussion on Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools facilitated by Ian Jay T. Padios, Head of the Technology Support Services Unit. The session introduced participants to practical AI applications that can enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support data-driven decision-making across various institutional functions.
To further encourage creativity and digital literacy, the organizers also conducted the Digital Transformation Skills Competition, where participants showcased their interpretation of the National ICT Month theme through infographic design.
Emerging as champion was Flonie Mae Gumapac, Instructor I from the Institute of Computing. Gretchen Olivar, Information Systems Analyst II of the Technology Support Services Unit, secured second place, while Randy Magayon Jr., Student Publication Staff from the Student Development and Services Division, placed third. The activity was participated by DNSC employees.
