PANABO CITY – Nisha Mikle Macul, a student from Davao del Norte State College’s Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (DNSC BSTM), teamed up with two more students from the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) Obrero campus, and the Lyceum of the Philippines (LPU) Davao to put out the winning course in the Specialized Cooking Competition of the 1st ASEAN Cuisine and Flavors Festival on September 13, 2022, at LPU campus, Davao City.

The team was also awarded; “Best in Collaboration”, by the Commission on Higher Education Region (CHED) XI and the Council of Hotel and Restaurant Educators of the Philippines (COHREP). The activity was part of the month-long ASEAN Month Celebration with the theme, “ACT: Addressing Challenges Together”. The participant was mentored by BSTM faculty, Aurezel Jan Aj Diamante.

Another entry was also made by Julia Lei Caspillo for the College’s collaboration with St. Mary’s College of Tagum, Inc. She was guided by BSTM program chair, Eunice Redith Manalo. The festival was participated by higher education institutions (HEIs) that offer tourism, hospitality, and culinary programs in the region.
