PANABO CITY – The Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (formerly NEDA), in its role as vice chair of the National Innovation Council (NIC), spearheaded the National Innovation Day 2025 on April 28-30, at Novotel Manila, Quezon City.
The event brought together students, educators, industry leaders, government officials, and investors from across the country under the theme, “FLIP: Forging Leaders of Innovation in the Philippines”. The celebration aimed to inspire future innovators, showcase Filipino creativity, and recognize outstanding contributions to innovation.
A key feature of the program was the Huddle, Analyze, Build, and Innovate (HABI) workshop, an immersive design thinking experience designed to cultivate creative problem-solving among the youth. Another major highlight was the Filipinnovation Awards, which honored individuals and organizations driving transformative solutions in their respective fields.
Representing Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) at the event were four students and two faculty members, including Institute of Computing Dean, Dr. Mark Van M. Buladaco. The celebration reinforced Philippines’ commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the areas of quality education, decent work, innovation, and partnerships, while shining a spotlight on the ingenuity and leadership potential of Filipino innovators.
