PANABO CITY – To align the institutional operations with the amended ISO 9001:2015 standards, Davao del Norte State College (DNSC), through its Quality Assurance Office (QAO), conducted the Gap Assessment with ISO consultants from JBDC Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment Consultancy on June 16, 2025, via Microsoft Teams.
The session, led by Engr. Zyrus A. Oyong and Mr. Vince Ellie B. Jamarilla, aimed to evaluate the strengths and improvement areas of DNSC’s existing Quality Management System (QMS). Participating in the assessment were selected process owners and key officials who engaged in focused breakout sessions. These discussions highlighted not only operational gaps but also the role of the academe in delivering quality services through improved systems and strategies.
The internal audit identified several notable practices. The Office of the Director for Extension Services achieved a 100% performance across 17 program indicators, reflecting strong planning and timely reporting. The Human Resource Management Office conducted relevant trainings but was advised to strengthen documentation of training effectiveness. Research and Development (R&D) encouraged to improve the alignment between objectives and actual outputs.
A key recommendation from the consultants was the inclusion of climate risk assessments in DNSC’s internal and external risk evaluation processes. This also involved enhancing the review of Corrective and Preventive Actions. The activity concluded with a presentation of the assessment findings and sharing of insights.
