PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College’s Gender and Development (GAD) Office, alongside volunteer faculty members and staff, participated in the International Women’s Day parade on March 8, 2025, at Freedom Park, Roxas Avenue, Davao City.

The event, initiated by the Integrated Gender and Development Division (IGDD) of the City Government of Davao, aimed to highlight women’s empowerment across various sectors, particularly in marginalized communities. The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) XI encouraged Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to take part in the celebration, reinforcing their role in advocating for gender equality.

With this year’s theme, “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas”, participants proudly wore purple—a global symbol of gender equality and women’s rights. The march concluded at Rizal Park, where a brief culminating program took place.
