PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College, through its Public Information Office, facilitated the DNSC INFOrward Talks and Workshop 2023, last February 01, 2023, at the College Audio-Visual Room. The event featured a series of talks that focused on strengthening the College’s brand, which would be instrumental in future campaigns for public information and dissemination.
In the morning, Mr. Derf Hanzel C. Maiz, Head of Social Communications and Alumni Affairs of Holy of Davao College, delivered a presentation and brief workshop on institutional branding. The participants were members of the college management team, headed by college president Joy M. Sorrosa. Mr. Maiz highlighted the importance of branding in higher education institutions to capture and show the holistic essence and mandate of schools.
In the afternoon, Mr. Reuel John F. Lumawag, Editor-in-Chief of SunStar Davao, enthralled faculty members and students in the crafts of news writing and feature writing. The second session was specifically done for the participants to acquire writing skills that would be beneficial as they contribute to the College’s website, social media handles, and newsletter. The last topic was presented by Mr. Glendell R. Jadraque, a faculty member under the Institute of Computing and digital marketing analyst. He explained the advantage of knowing how to manage social media pages effectively and utilize Search Engine Optimization tools to direct traffic toward a website.
