PANABO CITY — The Mindanao Japan Science and Technology Platform (MJ-STeP), represented by Mr. Yoshiaki Miwa, visited Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) on June 4, 2025, to discuss scholarship opportunities for graduate-level researchers in science and technology.

The initiative aims to open doors for master’s and doctoral candidates pursuing advanced research in scientific fields. The beneficiaries will be able to study at Japanese universities. Mr. Miwa, a former Counsellor and Consul at the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines and former Consul-General of Japan in Davao, emphasized MJ-STeP’s mission of promoting academic exchange and fostering deeper industry-academia-government cooperation between the Philippines and Japan.

Welcoming Mr. Miwa were College President Dr. Joy M. Sorrosa, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Production Dr. Eliseo F. Huesca Jr., Vice President for Administration and Finance Reir Erlinda E. Cutad, and Director for Executive Affairs Melissa G. Dalumay.
