PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) was honored with the Certified Most Sustainable and Liveable University recognition during the Nation Builders and Mosliv Awards on November 28, 2024, at Okada Manila, Parañaque City. DNSC President, Dr. Joy M. Sorrosa, was also awarded the Honorary Most Empowered Woman of the Year.

The selection committee for the award uses criteria and methodologies that align with the Sustainable Development Goals, under the theme, “Ensure, Promote the Integration and the Principles of Smarter, Sustainable, and Greener Communities”. This special project aims to champion best practices in sustainability at various levels, including provincial, city-wide, barangay, and community levels.

Several sustainable programs of the college were featured in the latest edition of the Mosliv publication. These programs prioritize the health and well-being of employees, contribute to the generation of decent work and economic growth, promote environmental stewardship and energy efficiency, advance gender equality, address the roots of parity and poverty, and reduce inequalities.

Representing DNSC to claim the awards were President Sorrosa, Vice President for Administration and Finance Reir Erlinda E. Cutad, Director for Executive Affairs Melissa G. Dalumay, Director for Planning and Resource Management Charlo Bianci M. Guray, and Director for Finance Services Rhaymart Joe O. Gella.
