PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) conducted a virtual orientation on Data Privacy Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) on April 2, 2025, via Microsoft Teams. The session engaged faculty and staff in a discussion about the institution’s role in safeguarding data and upholding responsible governance.
The activity was facilitated by Data Protection Officer Ian Jay T. Padios, in collaboration with the Technology Support Services Unit and Office of the College President. It aimed to enhance employee awareness on ethical data management, risk identification, and compliance with legal standards within the academic context.
DPO Padios covered topics, including the fundamentals of data privacy, risk mitigation strategies, and the significance of institutional governance frameworks. Participants took part in the open forum, raising practical questions on consent management, digital recordkeeping, and data sharing protocols.
