PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College’s Office of Student Development and Services, in coordination with the Medical and Dental Unit and Philippine National Police – Panabo City, conducted a Symposium on Drug Awareness, last February 22, 2023, at the college gymnasium. 

The primary objective was to let students get acquainted with the stipulations under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022 and the destructive influence of drugs on people, especially the youth. The resource speaker was Police Senior Master Sergeant Randy E. Sta. Maria and a message was delivered by Police Lieutenant Colonel Adelon M. Caacbay, acting Chief of Police. The participants were selected students from the College. 

The resource speaker highlighted that the activity could help in strengthening the efforts on illegal drug prevention and control and in achieving a decrease in the number of people who use illegal drugs.
