PANABO CITY – In celebration of the 88th National Book Week Celebration, The Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. (PLAI) – Davao Region Librarians Council hosted a line-up of competitions, open for college students in the region. PLAI announced, last November 20, 2022, that the first placer, second placer, and third placer for the Digital Poster Making Contest were all from Davao del Norte State College (DNSC).
Jhun Bart B. Macirin, a fourth year Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) student, bested ten other entries. Marry Grace C. Putian and Hitomi Ken D. Heima, first year BSIT students, won the second and third prizes, respectively. The theme for the celebration was, “Basa. Bayan. Bukas”. Certificates and prizes will be given during the awarding ceremony on November 29, 2022.
DNSC also prepared its own activities to celebration the National Book Week and the Library and Information Services Month. Among the competitions for students were Digital Poster Making, Trivia Questions, Essay Writing Contest, Video Spoof, Spelling Bee, Impromptu Speech, On-The-Spot One-Shot Story Writing, Book Cover Contest, Book Character Parade with a Short Skit, and Reader’s Theater.
