Davao del Norte State College is Hiring!

PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College, through the Quality Assurance (QA) Division, conducted an Internal Quality Audit Training on June 28, 2026, at the Gender and Development Conference Room.

The training was attended by members of the Internal Quality Audit (IQA) Team to strengthen their understanding of the ISO 9001:2015 + Amendment 1:2024 requirements and the ISO 19011:2018 guidelines for auditing management systems. It also enhanced their competencies in audit preparation, audit implementation, and the preparation of accurate and effective audit reports.

In her opening remarks, QA Director Ma. Melanie N. Edig commended the auditors for their continued commitment to upholding quality standards across the institution, “Congratulations because, once again, you are the warriors in the battlefield. You are always ready to combat our enemies, not people, but noncompliance. Some process owners may not always follow the prescribed processes, and your role is to stand by what you have learned about the standards.”

Dr. Edig emphasized that while ISO 9001:2015 serves as the College’s Quality Management System standard, internal auditors must be guided by ISO 19011:2018, which provides internationally recognized guidelines for auditing management systems.

Highlighting the milestone of the training, Dr. Edig noted that the activity marks the College’s 20th IQA Training, reflecting a decade of sustained capacity-building initiatives that began in 2016.

Looking ahead, she shared DNSC’s plans to further strengthen its quality management initiatives by adopting updated international standards.

“Next year, if the budget warrants, we will explore the new ISO 9001:2026 version. We will also begin our journey toward ISO 21001:2025, the Educational Organizations Management System. This standard is more appropriate for academic institutions and will further strengthen our commitment to quality management in education,” she said.

Serving as the resource person, Compliance and Standardization Unit Head Lead Joena Marie A. Martinez facilitated the training sessions, which began with participants sharing their experiences and insights from previous internal quality audits. The discussions provided an opportunity for auditors to reflect on best practices, identify common challenges, and learn from one another’s experiences.

The training focused on enabling participants to understand the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 + Amendment 1:2024 and the ISO 19011:2018 auditing guidelines, prepare for and conduct internal audits systematically, and produce accurate, objective, and value-adding audit reports.
