PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College welcomed officials from Samal Island City College (SICC) on September 6, 2024, at the Gender and Development (GAD) Conference Hall, for a collaborative discussion on the implementation of the Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA), research and extension endeavors and initiatives, and milestones on quality assurance.
DNSC Vice President for Academic Affairs Girley S. Gumanao expressed her enthusiasm for the collaborative exchange of ideas between the two institutions during her welcome remarks.
The SICC delegation included Vice President for Academic Affairs Jennifer Gonzaga, Research and Publication Section Head Jane Marfa, BPA Program Head Geraldine Giangan, Community Extension Unit Head Annie Macarambon, and Quality Assurance Head Cathyrine Ramirez.
Following the exchange of insights, VP Gonzaga expressed gratitude, stating, “Thank you so much for all that we have learned today. We will bring them with us as we continue to work for the development of SICC.”
College President Joy M. Sorrosa dropped by to greet the guests and emphasized the mutual benefits of the exchange. “As much as this event is intended for us to impart our best practices to you, we also look forward to learning from your experiences. A law was enacted to establish DNSC’s campuses outside Panabo City, including DNSC-IGaCoS. We will not be there to compete but to complement. After all, we all have a common purpose and that is to provide quality education to the community.”
