Davao del Norte State College is Hiring!

PANABO CITY – The Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) Preliminary Survey Visit (PSV) for the Bachelor of Science in Agroforestry (BSAF) and Master in Information Technology (MIT) programs and Level II Visit for the Master of Arts in Basic Education (MABE), Master in Fisheries Management (MFM), Master of Science in Marine Biodiversity (MSMB), and Master in Science Teaching (MST) concluded on May 23, 2025, via Zoom.

Dr. Isidro L. Duran, representing the accreditors, discussed the strengths and recommendations for improvement after the five-day evaluation. The evaluation process, described as research-inspired, involved focused group discussions, stakeholder interviews, and documentary analysis as key tools in gathering insights. The presentation of findings was structured around the acronyms of the accreditors’ names.

Among the identified strengths were the alignment of program outcomes with the College’s vision and mission, a balanced and purpose-driven curriculum, inclusive student support, innovative pedagogical approaches, and effective integration of technology in instruction.

However, the evaluation also presented forward-looking recommendations, such as, enhancing curricula to address emerging trends and technologies, securing research funding and partnerships, and strengthening of library services through linkages.
Vice President for Academic Affairs Girley S. Gumanao and Institute of Advanced Studies Dean Nickel Jean S. Lagare-Sastine both extended gratitude to the AACCUP accreditors and the DNSC local task forces. “This accreditation is not merely about compliance,” Dean Lagare-Sastine emphasized, “but a celebration of the collective commitment to excellence and quality service.”

Speaking on behalf of the College, Dr. Joy M. Sorrosa expressed DNSC’s full acceptance of the recommendations and reaffirmed its commitment to both local and international standards in delivering quality higher education. She also recognized AACCUP as a longtime and trusted partner in promoting academic excellence.
