PANABO CITY – Dr. Joy M. Sorrosa, SUC President III of Davao del Norte State College (DNSC), and Dr. Ma. Melanie Edig, Director of Quality Assurance, participated in the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) Tier 1 Training held from March 11 to 14, 2025, in Bangkok, Thailand.
The four-day training brought together 41 quality assurance professionals from six Asian countries; Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia, and the Philippines, to elevate higher education standards across Southeast Asia. The program was facilitated by leading AUN-QA experts including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tan Kay Chuan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ornsiri Cheunsuang, and Prof. Dr. Arnulfo P. Azcarraga.
The sessions covered discussing the AUN-QA programme assessment process and its criteria, application of the AUN-QA requirements to an academic programme, and performing of gap analysis for programme improvement.
The participation of Dr. Sorrosa and Dr. Edig highlighted DNSC’s institutional strategy of aligning with international benchmarks and reinforcing its goal of providing world-class education.
