PANABO CITY—  Faculty members from Davao del Norte State College attended the 2023 Annual Scientific Conference and 90th General Membership Assembly of the National Research Council of the Philippines on March 10–11, 2023, at the Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay City, Metro Manila.

Dr. Mark Ronald Manseguiao, Dr. Nickel Jean Lagare, Dr. Melanie Edig, Dr. Mark Van Buladaco, Dr. Mariannie Rebortera, and Ms. Ria Jayne Tabinas were able to travel to the venue, while other members from DNSC witnessed the event via Facebook Live and Zoom. Dr. Edig, Ms. Tabinas, Mr. Boyeth Pelone (virtual attendee), and Ms. Liezel Esprela (virtual attendee) took their oaths as new associate members of the council.

The conference’s theme was “Science and Governance: Shaping Policies Towards a VUCAD2 (Visionary, Understandable, Clear, Agile, Digital, Diverse) Future”, emphasizing how science and research can lead to the development of plans and policies that will prepare communities as they traverse a VUCAD2 future.

Dr. Buladaco also presented a poster of his research entitled, “Performance Evaluation of the Selected Davao del Norte Local Government Unit Websites: A Basis for e-Governance Improvement.” The paper was accepted for the exhibit after going through an evaluation and review.
