PANABO CITY – Errol L. Granaderos, a student of Davao del Norte State College’s Bachelor of Science in Disaster Resiliency and Management (DNSC-BSDRM) and a varsity member for athletics, was hailed as the Outstanding Panaboan 2024 during the Gabi ng Parangal, one of the highlights for the 23rd Araw ng Panabo Celebration on March 20, 2024, at the Panabo City, Multipurpose Gymnasium.

Granaderos brought home the gold medal in the long jump and the silver medal in the high jump events during the State Universities and Colleges Athletic Association (SCUAA) National Games at Tarlac City in 2023. He bested representatives from other public tertiary schools from various regions.

He stood alongside another recipient as one of the two Outstanding Panaboan 2024 awardees in Category II, a group recognized for their national or international accolades, each contributing significantly to Panabo City’s honor and prestige through their achievements. Category I highlights the impact of Panaboans who have exhibited professional excellence in their fields.

Three more DNSCians were declared as finalists of the same award. Paulo G. Bastasa of the Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLED) was shortlisted for being the champion for backpack journalism in the Schools Press Advisers Movement (SPAM) National Media Press Conference and for ranking second in collaborative publishing in the province-wide Press Freedom Month Celebration 2023 and in the Mindanao-wide Photojournalism and Layouting Competition.

Another silver medalist in the National SCUAA for the 100-meter hurdle, Justin Brix P. Gubal of the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), was also on the list. Jeffrey A. Delposo Jr., a third-year BDSRM student, was lauded for being a bronze medalist in the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Philippine National Skills Competition.
