PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College’s Office of the Student Development and Services, along with the Office of Guidance, Counselling, and Testing, has been conducting PASINATI, an orientation for new students, annually. For 2024, the organizers collaborated with additional offices and committees to ensure that new students are well-informed about essential policies.
The orientation ran from August 5 to August 10. The first three days included briefings from all units under Student Development and Services, the Admissions Office, the Registrar’s Office, Security Services, and the Academic Unit’s Flexible Learning implementation. College President Joy M. Sorrosa and the institute deans welcomed the new students with inspirational messages.
On Day Four, the team traveled to DNSC Talaingod for students enrolled at the campus. The final day was dedicated to working students enrolled in the Davao del Norte Learning Institute (DNLI), an adult education program for government workers.
After the general briefing, students proceeded to their assigned rooms for group counselling. An additional day was included to present the Citizen’s Charter of the Finance Services, Library and Information Resource Center (LIRC), Technology Support Services Unit, and Research, Extension, and Production. Several talks were also featured, covering topics such as Basic Gender and Development (GAD) Concepts, the Safe Spaces Act, Disaster Preparedness, the No Single Use Policy, and the National Service Training Program (NSTP).
