PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College was declared the Overall Champion of the Annual Festival of Talents, organized by the Philippine Society of Information Technology Students (PSITS) Region XI. The festival lasted from February to March 10, 2024.

PSITS is an organization of information technology students from public and private schools with IT education. It encourages collaboration, innovation, and creativity in IT practice. For the fourth year in a row, DNSC Institute of Computing students have once again emerged as the top performers in the PSITS XI Festival of Talents, securing the highest number of victories across sociocultural, sports, and innovative competitions.

DNSC’s participants bested the other schools in E-Sports, which included Call of Duty Mobile Tournament, DOTA 2, and Mobile Legends Bang Bang Competition. The Basketball Men and Women, Volleyball Men, Badminton Men (singles category), Chess, Dart Men (doubles category, and Dart Double (mixed category) brought home gold medals as well. DNSC also secured top spots in Digital Poster, TikTok, Jingle, Music Video Spoof (Live), and Cheerdance Competitions.

DNSC-IC students finished as second best in Badminton Doubles (mixed category), Vocal Solo, Word Factory, Larong Laho: Bulong Pari, Music Video Spoof Trailer, Cosplaying, Most Membership, and Ms. PSITS XI 2024.

Third placers were representatives for Volleyball Women, Badminton Women (singles category), Dart Men (singles category), Dart Women (doubles category), Short Film Poster, Modern Dance Competition, and Spoken Poetry.

The theme for the festival was, “Bringing ITE Talents: Uniting Students in the Davao Region”. It was held at Mapua Malayan Colleges Mindanao at Davao City. DNSC’s delegation was spearheaded by College President Joy M. Sorrosa, duly supported by Vice President for Academic Affairs Girley S. Gumanao, IC Dean Mark Van M. Buladaco, IC Student Association Adviser Jovito P. Bolacoy Jr., and ICSA Governor Justine Paula H. Arriesgado.
