PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College was officially registered as a lifetime member of the University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific (UMAP) Council, Inc. Philippines. UMAP is the largest international network of higher education institutions and relevant government and NGO partners in the Asia Pacific region.

The certificate of membership was presented to College President Joy M. Sorrosa by the Head of Internationalization Initiatives and External Affairs office, Mr. Daniel Fritz V. Silvallana, on June 15, 2022. With the new membership, the College plans to initiate multilateral and bilateral student exchange, summer and winter school programs, internships, and research collaborations, among others.

DNSC looks to contribute to the UMAP Council’s goal of achieving a better understanding of the cultural, economic, and social systems of various countries and territories through cooperation and collaborative programs. UMAP currently has 500 member universities from 35 countries.

This initiative is part of the College’s strategic direction toward internationalization. Aside from UMAP, DNSC has existing network membership under the Asian Technological University Network, Passage to ASEAN Network, ASEAN Public Relations Network, and SEAMEO Network.
