PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College (DNSC), through its Research, Development, and Extension (RDE) Units, recognized outstanding researchers and extension presenters during the Awarding of Best Oral Presenters in the Agency In-House Review for Completed Research and Extension Projects 2026 held on April 27, 2026, at the DNSC Gymnasium.
The activity featured completed research and extension outputs under four clusters: Fisheries, Marine Science, Food Science, Environmental Science and Agroforestry; Gender and Development and Social Studies; Information Technology and Systems; and Education, Communication, and Linguistics.
Cluster A: Fisheries, Marine Science, Food Science, Environmental Science and Agroforestry
In the research category, Boyeth C. Pelone placed 1st for “Analyzing Social-Ecological System Vulnerabilities of Riverine Communities in Davao del Norte”. Paquito E. Relox, Jr. placed 2nd for “Development of Halal Ready-To-Eat Emergency Foods: Formulation of Ready-to-Eat Emergency Food Candidate Recipes (Phase 2)”, while Gladys Love E. Bacsa placed 3rd for “Tour Guiding Performance and Its Enduring Impact on Tourist Satisfaction: A Phase 2 Study in Taklobo Tours, Samal Island’.
For extension, Boyeth C. Pelone also placed 1st for “SHIELD 2: A Nature-based Solution for Natural Disasters in Coastal Communities”. Ria Jayne A. Tabinas placed 2nd for “Enhancement of the Food Safety Practices of Vendors in Panabo City Night Market”, while Crisalie C. Bacarro placed 3rd for “Strengthening Tourism Management in Taklobo Tours: Capacitating Local Communities (Year 2)”.
Cluster B: Gender and Development and Social Studies
In research, Sadie D. Law-ay placed 1st for “Ayuda and Gendered Poverty: Experiences of Women in Government Aid Distributions in Davao del Norte”. Kim Harvey C. Roca placed 2nd for “Urban Flood Modeling and Characterization in Panabo City, Davao del Norte”, while Rolando P. Bansag, Jr. placed 3rd for “Unlocking New Markets for Skilled Artisans Behind Bars”.
For extension, Mary Glor M. Cuda placed 1st for “Empowering Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT): A Capacity Building Program for Sustainable Community Peace and Order in the Barangay Level”.
Romalie F. Galleto placed 2nd for “PAGPAKANUG: Capability Building Program on Leadership and Good Governance for the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Officials of Panabo City”, while Rolando Bansag Jr. placed 3rd for “Sustainable Livelihood Development Project for Rebel-Returnees”.
Cluster C: Information Technology and Systems
In research, Glenne B. Lagura placed 1st for “Web Accessibility for Inclusive Governance in Philippine Higher Education”.
Julie Anne L. Tadle placed 2nd for “Evaluating the Performance of Information Systems to Process Improvement Along Businesses and Organizations with Descriptive Analytics in Panabo City, Davao del Norte”, while Sharmaine E. Cabugwason placed 3rd for “Unveiling the Digital Landscape for Microfinance Institutions in Davao del Norte”.
For extension, Reban Cliff A. Fajardo placed 1st for “Continuing Professional Development for ICT Personnel of the City Government of Tagum: Year 1”.
Jovito P. Bolacoy, Jr. placed 2nd for “Empowering Educators with Relevant Information and Communication Technology Training”.
Two entries tied for 3rd place: Jeferson Dela Cruz for “Capability Building for Alternative Learning System (ALS) Learners and Implementers, Out-of-School Youth, and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Through Relevant Training in Information and Communication Technologies”, and Philip John Paja for “ECWiz: An English Competency Gamified Application Training for Elementary Students”.
Cluster D: Education, Communication, and Linguistics
In research, Marilou D. Junsay placed 1st for “Needs Analysis and Program Design for Educational Strategic Capability Advancement Program for Excellence (EDU-SCAPE)”.
Kim A. Drajido and Fhernand B. Bugais placed 2nd for “Experiences and Challenges in Child Rehab: A Springboard for Policy Development Inputs in Child-Caring Facilities” and “Preserving Ata Manobo Heritage: An Ethnographic Study of the Bangkakow Dance Amid Modern Challenges Phase 1”, respectively.
For extension, Marilou D. Junsay again placed 1st for “Research Capability Project Phase 2: Strengthening Action Research Competence of Basic Education Teacher-Researcher”.
Ma. Kristine A. Patarata placed 2nd for “USWAG TRIBO 5.0: Empowering IP Community through Livelihood and Skills Training”, while Nestle Joy R. Arguilla placed 3rd for “EQUIP-ILEAD: Empowering for Quality Understanding and Integration of Policies: Indigenous People Education through Leadership Advocacy and Development”.
