PANABO CITY — The Bachelor of Science in Agroforestry (BSAF) and Master in Information Technology (MIT) programs of Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) underwent a virtual survey visit conducted by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. (AACCUP), from May 18 to 22, 2026.

The survey team was led by Dr. Jennifer G. Fronda as coordinator, with Dr. Carmelito C. Valdez serving as team leader for the BSAF program and Dr. Jesus S. Paguigan as team leader for the MIT program. Other members of the team included Dr. Shierel F. Vallesteros (BSAF), Dr. Sheryl May D. Lainez (MIT), and Prof. Vikylyn A. Guieb as accreditor for library services.

During the exit conference, the AACCUP accreditors presented their observations and recommendations, noting that the official results remain subject to technical review and final deliberation by the AACCUP Board.

For Area I on mission, goals, and objectives, the evaluators observed that the programs align with the institution’s vision and educational directions at the national and local levels. The team also recommended strengthening the visibility of course syllabi in relation to students’ career pathways.

Under Area III on curriculum, the accreditors noted that the programs remain responsive to current educational trends and industry demands. The team also recognized the integration of outcome-based education (OBE) practices and compliance with Commission on Higher Education (CHED) policies.

Area IV on student services received positive remarks for the accessibility of academic support systems. For Area V on research, the team acknowledged the institution’s research policies and the active participation of faculty and students in research initiatives. The accreditors also noted that research outputs are aligned with institutional expertise and community needs.

The accreditors likewise commended the college’s extension services for supporting community engagement and development initiatives. In the area of library services, the team recommended the continued acquisition of learning resources and the expansion of reading spaces to better support students and faculty members.

DNSC President Joy M. Sorrosa welcomed the findings and assured the accreditors that the institution would address the recommendations and provide the necessary supporting documents.
