PANABO City – Ralph Moses Padilla, a fourth-year Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics (BSED Math) at Davao del Norte State College (DNSC), secured a gold medal and achieved third top scorer in the open category of the 4th International Vedic Math Olympiad 2024, organized by the Institute for the Advancement of Vedic Mathematics (IAVM).
Mentored by Analiza C. Paña, Padilla’s remarkable performance contributed to the Philippines’ impressive 97% win rate across all categories in the Olympiad. This global competition attracted over 10,000 math enthusiasts from nine countries, showcasing exceptional talent and mastery of Vedic mathematics—a system of mathematics that promotes mental computation and efficiency.
Padilla’s score not only earned him a spot among the top-ranking participants but also demonstrated the high caliber of DNSC’s Mathematics program and its dedication to fostering academic excellence.
The Institute for the Advancement of Vedic Mathematics (IAVM), a global non-profit organization established in 2016, aims to promote the study and application of Vedic mathematics worldwide.
