
PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) has been recognized among the leading public higher education institutions in the country after ranking 4th* among Philippine public universities and 81st out of 115 public universities in the ASEAN region in the AppliedHE Public & Private University Ranking: ASEAN 2026.
Based on the performance analysis conducted by AppliedHE Pte. Ltd. of Singapore, DNSC garnered an overall score of 33.46 out of 100, placing the College in the top 5 nationally and affirming its growing competitiveness within the Southeast Asian higher education landscape
The ranking evaluated universities across six key dimensions: Teaching and Learning, Employability, Research, Community Engagement, Internationalization, and Institutional Reputation. Among these, DNSC demonstrated strengths in Employability and Community Engagement, both of which exceeded the ASEAN average
DNSC ranked 28th in Employability among 115 ASEAN public universities, posting a 53.0% graduate employment rate, higher than the regional average of 49.8%. This performance shows the College’s effectiveness in preparing graduates for the workforce and aligning academic programs with industry needs.
In Community Engagement, DNSC placed 43rd, earning a score of 59.8%, surpassing the ASEAN average of 56.0%. While the report highlighted opportunities for growth in areas such as Internationalization, Institutional Reputation, and Teaching and Learning, AppliedHE noted that DNSC’s current performance provides a solid foundation for future strategic improvements, particularly through expanded international partnerships, faculty development, and increased visibility in academic networks.
*There is a noted data variation in the rankings released by AppliedHE. Under the ASEAN Rankings, DNSC placed 4th among Philippine public universities, while in the Asia Rankings, the College ranked 3rd nationally.
