PANABO CITY – Several personnel from Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) attended the 1st Davao del Norte Planning Summit on November 18, 2024, at the DavNor Sports and Tourism Complex Gymnasium in Tagum City. Dr. Girley S. Gumanao, represented by Mr. Anselmo G. Anobong Jr. and Mr. Welvin A. Orantes, shared about the various research-driven approaches to sustainable tourism development.
The presentation was part of the discussion under the theme of Tourism and Investment Planning. Another DNSC faculty member, Dr. Boyeth C. Pelone, talked about Integrating Scientific Research and Data Analytics in Disaster Planning under the disaster planning thematic area. The summit also featured presentations on advancing Green Economy.
The rest of the DNSC attendees included Planning Officer III Joshua P. Elardo and Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management Program Chair Eunice Redith Manalo. The summit aimed to foster resilient and inclusive development by bringing together government officials, industry leaders, academic experts, and community stakeholders. The goal was to share insights, explore innovative strategies, and set a clear vision for the development of the Province of Davao del Norte.
