
PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) emerged as the overall champion of the Davao Region State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (RSCUAA XI) Games, held on March 21-23, 2025. The host institution secured 95 gold medals, solidifying its dominance in the regional competition.
Co-hosting the event alongside DNSC was the University of Southeastern Philippines North (Tagum-Mabini Campus). Other participating state universities and colleges (SUCs) included Davao de Oro State College (DdOSC), Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU), Davao del Sur State College (DSSC), Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST), University of Southeastern Philippines South (USeP Davao Campus), and University of the Philippines Mindanao (UPMin).
DOrSU claimed the overall silver medal with 60 golds, 38 silvers, and 39 bronzes, while UPMin secured the bronze with 48 golds, 20 silvers, and 42 bronzes. DSSC followed closely with a tally of 31 golds, 21 silvers, and 28 bronzes.
With its commanding performance, DNSC will lead the Davao Region’s delegation at the National SCUAA 2025, set to take place in Camiguin from April 23 to 27. The delegation is headed by College President Joy M. Sorrosa, Vice President for Academics Girley S. Gumanao, Director for Student Development and Services Josiedel C. Santamaria, and Sports Coordinator Edison Q. Bernaldez.
