
PANABO CITY — Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) formally became a member of the Philippine–Canada Education Consortium (PhilCanEDUCON) INFIN8 Network following the Covenant of Understanding Ceremonial Signing held on December 9, 2025, at Cavite State University.
The INFIN8 Network is a consortium of higher education institutions (HEIs) established to promote international collaboration and inclusive global engagement. DNSC was represented during the activity by Mr. Mer Jun Q. Cañas, Head of the Internationalization Initiatives and External Affairs Office, and Prof. Marilou D. Junsay, DNSC PhilCanEDUCON INFIN8 Network Focal Person. The College received a certificate of partnership, confirming its membership in the network.
The activity featured discussions on the eight thematic areas identified through academic engagements in Canada, along with presentations from three Philippine HEIs that participated in the Canada visit. Updates were also provided on the network’s composition, including the presentation of the initial “lucky 15” HEIs and the current total of 21 member institutions.
Other agenda items included the formation of the INFIN8 CHED Lead Team, the unveiling of the INFIN8 logo, and plans for registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to establish the network’s legal identity. Participating HEIs also took part in a pledge of commitment to the vision and mission of the INFIN8 Network, followed by the presentation and oath-taking of network officers.
Sectoral commitments from member institutions representing the network’s thematic areas were likewise presented. These focused on institutional profiles, areas of expertise, proposed contributions, and shared challenges and opportunities in advancing collaborative initiatives within the network.
