PANABO CITY – The Gender and Development (GAD) Unit of Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) recognized Dr. Girley S. Gumanao, Vice President for Academic Affairs, as a recipient of the Gawad Bai Award during the institution’s flag-raising ceremony on April 6, 2026.
The recognition was conferred by College President Joy M. Sorrosa and GAD Unit Head Sadie D. Law-ay. Dr. Gumanao was cited for her “outstanding contributions to gender-responsive leadership and academic excellence.”
The Gawad Bai Awards is an initiative of the GAD Unit that recognizes individuals who contribute to the promotion of gender equality, women empowerment, and inclusive development within the institution. It is part of the college’s celebration of National Women’s Month.
Dr. Gumanao was recognized for integrating gender-responsive approaches in academic policies, programs, and instruction. In her role as Vice President for Academic Affairs, she has been involved in advancing inclusivity, equal opportunity, and gender sensitivity within the College’s academic framework.
