PANABO CITY – The Management Team and selected personnel of Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) completed the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Executive Course conducted by the Office of Civil Defense and National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council on February 26, 2026, at the GAD Conference Hall, DNSC.

The training equipped participants with knowledge and competencies in disaster preparedness and emergency response management. The course covered eight key modules: Introduction to EOC; EOC Operations; EOC Organization and Staffing; EOC Facility Design and Requirements; EOC Communication Needs; EOC Information Management; EOC Planning Process; and EOC Readiness.

Serving as resource speakers were Prosper D. Dajalos, Jr. and Melvin Roy A. Javier, who provided in-depth discussions on establishing and managing an effective Emergency Operations Center aligned with national disaster risk reduction frameworks.

In her welcome message, College President Joy M. Sorrosa emphasized the role of leadership during emergencies. “We recognize that as leaders, we are not only decision makers, we are also among the first people our community looks to for guidance and assurance,” she said.

She further expressed hope that the course would deepen participants’ understanding of established processes and reinforce their responsibility to communicate decisions clearly and accurately, especially in preventing misinterpretation or misinformation.

The training was facilitated by the Human Resource Management Division, in coordination with the Disaster Resiliency Administration Committee.
