PANABO CITY – The Information Officers Network Association (ION DavNor), a SEC-registered stock corporation that empowers information officers from local government units, national line agencies, state universities and colleges, and government-owned and controlled corporations in Davao del Norte, hosted the 1st Stellar Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Public Information on October 25, 2024, at the DGLM Leisure Center, Tagum City.
Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) bagged three out of the five awards in the ceremony for the national agencies category. The college’s special newsletters released in 2024 were honored as the Best Print Publication. Its five-year strategic plan video, showcased during the 29th Charter Day of the College, won the Best Video Feature (for agency mandate and services). DNSC’s digital dissemination efforts were also recognized with the Best Social Media Branding award.
The Stellar Awards were initiated to celebrate Communication Month, as declared in Proclamation No. 308, series of 2023. The awards recognize innovative initiatives and excellent implementation of programs by government information officers in Davao del Norte. Categories included Best Information Dissemination Program, Best Radio Program, Best Video Feature (for agency mandate/new agency service), Best Print Publication, and Best Social Media Branding. Information offices were grouped into two categories: local government units and national agencies (NLAs, SUCs, and GOCCs).
