PANABO CITY — Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) renewed its commitment to ethical governance and strong partnerships during the 2nd Suppliers Summit, which aimed to advance transparency, efficiency, and integrity in the College’s procurement processes.
With the theme “Optimizing Procurement Efficiency, Transparency, and Trusted Partnership”, the summit gathered suppliers, contractors, and institutional stakeholders for an open dialogue on procurement reforms and collaboration.
“This summit is more than just a routinary meeting,” said Director for Administrative Services Rhaymart Joe O. Gella in his opening remarks. “It is a testament to DNSC’s unwavering dedication to integrity and accountability in every step of our procurement processes.” He emphasized that ethical and efficient procurement is a powerful tool for nation-building, stressing the College’s vision for supplier relationships “rooted in trust, shared values, and mutual respect.”
Anchored on Republic Act No. 9184 and the forthcoming RA 12009 or Government Procurement Reform Act, the summit provided a venue for clarifying procedures, addressing concerns, and fostering shared solutions. “We welcome your insights. We are here to listen, to clarify, or to be clarified,” Gella added.
DNSC President Joy M. Sorrosa underscored the institution’s core values as guiding principles in procurement. “Excellence, integrity, innovativeness, stewardship, and love of God and country, these are non-negotiable,” she declared. Sorrosa also highlighted the impact of digitalization in strengthening DNSC’s operational resilience and in positioning the College at the forefront of procurement modernization.
She acknowledged the vital role of supplier cooperation in achieving procurement goals. “While we continue to refine our systems, your adherence to guidelines and timelines is indispensable,” she said. “This summit is not merely a forum, it is a catalyst for meaningful dialogue, partnership, and progress.”
The event concluded with a closing message from Vice President for Administration and Finance Reir Erlinda E. Cutad, who expressed gratitude to the participants. “Our theme is not just a tagline. It reflects the direction we want to take with you. Success is not achieved in silos, but through open, purposeful collaboration,” she said.
