PANABO CITY — As the fiscal year draws to a close and the nation marks the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women, Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) celebrates a milestone in advancing gender equality and women empowerment.

On September 25, 2025, the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) conferred recognition to DNSC for its exceptional commitment in allocating and utilizing its 2024 Gender and Development (GAD) Budget, in line with national GAD Budget Policy guidelines. The awarding ceremony was held in Manila and gathered institutions demonstrating strong performance in gender-responsive governance.

DNSC was represented by Gender and Development Focal Person Sadie D. Law-ay and Director for Executive Affairs Melissa G. Dalumay, who received the recognition on behalf of the College. This distinction places DNSC 2nd among State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) with the Highest Total GAD Budget Expenditure, reflecting the institution’s sustained effort to implement meaningful, well-funded, and impactful gender programs.

The award highlights DNSC’s commitment to fostering safe, empowering, and inclusive spaces, especially significant as the country intensifies advocacy efforts against gender-based violence through the 18-Day Campaign to End VAW.
