PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College (DNSC), through the Office of Human Resource Management (HRMO), facilitated the Gawad Parangal 2024, an annual culminating activity of Philippine Service Month held every September. This recognition ceremony aims to honor outstanding employees in teaching and non-teaching roles, years of service, research, extension, and production contributions, and those who form the most productive and efficient unit.
The ceremony took place at LYR Beach Resort, Island Garden City of Samal (IGaCOS), from September 19 to 20, 2024, and was preceded by a team building event enjoyed by all employees. The 2024 Outstanding Employees were Dr. Leo D. Rayon Jr., Associate Professor V and Director for Administrative Services; Dr. Melissa G. Dalumay, Director for Executive Affairs; and Maricielo Paula E. Funa, Head of the Guidance, Counseling, and Testing Unit, as well as the Job Placement Office. They were nominated by their peers and evaluated based on criteria measuring the excellence of their work and performance.
In addition, personnel who published and presented significant research findings on various platforms were also recognized. The awardees included Grace C. Guanzon, Czarina Nicole Lara M. Lanes, Ian S. Somosot, Christy Lyne C. Relox, Daniel Fritz V. Silvallana, Dr. Ian Val P. Delos Reyes, Dr. Leo D. Rayon Jr., Dr. Glenne B. Lagura, Dr. Marilou D. Junsay, Dr. Girley S. Gumanao, Jerry O. Salinas, Xavier N. Lopez, Dr. Rosie Lynn P. Tejada, and Anselmo G. Anobong, Jr.
Trusted DNSC driver, Avelino P. Lanugon, and seasoned faculty, Assoc. Prof. Nancy R. Raiz, received loyalty service plaques for thirty years of public service. Maximiano V. Mendoza was honored for twenty-five years of service, and Assoc. Prof. Sadie D. Law-ay for twenty years. For ten years of service, the following employees were awarded: Dr. Melissa G. Dalumay, Dr. Glenne B. Lagura, Ian Jay T. Padios, Dr. Paquito E. Relox, Jr., and Ian S. Somosot.
For their selfless service as faculty members of the DNSC-SETBI College Education Behind Bars, the following faculty members were endorsed to receive awards from the academic unit: Bryan Macarayo, Jocelyn Dayot, Rolando Bansag Jr., John Christopher Saligan, James Jadraque, Sara May Dimaocor, Aunel Guillergan, Michael Andrei Sameon, Marcel Marie Dagohoy, Jericho Catipay, and Felmark Levara.
The Best Organizational Unit was the Administrative Services Division, recognized for its commitment to quality service and outstanding performance in achieving institutional targets and helping DNSC fulfill its mandate.
