PANABO CITY— Davao del Norte State College has been recommended for continued certification under ISO 9001:2015 + Amendment 1:2024 after successfully undergoing its Second Surveillance Audit for the Quality Management System (QMS) on September 23–24, 2026.
The two-day audit was conducted by Khen O. David of W3 Solutionz FZE, who assessed the College’s conformity and continued implementation of its quality management system across various offices, units, and academic programs.
Among the areas audited were the College Management Team, Internal Quality Auditors, Project Monitoring and Evaluation Unit, Records and Admission Division, Extension Division, Procurement Unit, Human Resource Management Division, Supply and Property Management Unit, Health Services Unit, Research Division, School Canteen, Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLED), and Master of Arts in Educational Management (MAEM). Other offices and units were also visited during the auditor’s campus walkaround.
During the opening of the audit, College President Dr. Joy M. Sorrosa encouraged the DNSC community to approach the assessment with transparency and openness, “Each audit challenges us to present our data with honesty and openness. Where there is room for improvement, let us embrace the recommendations and use them to strengthen our systems and services. I trust that our preparations for this audit are sufficient, and I hope that we are striving not merely to meet expectations, but to exceed them.”
During the presentation of the audit findings, Ms. David noted several commendable points and identified opportunities for improvement across the areas assessed. The audit also resulted in two non-conformities, which the College will address through appropriate corrective actions in the coming months.
Accepting the results on behalf of DNSC and representing the College President, Vice President for Administration and Finance Reir Erlinda E. Cutad acknowledged the findings and the challenge of sustaining the College’s commitment to quality.
The successful audit shows DNSC’s continuing efforts to institutionalize quality management practices and ensure that its systems remain responsive, effective, and aligned with established standards. The audit was facilitated by the Quality Assurance Division, headed by Director Joena Marie A. Martinez.
