PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) concluded its five-day Self-Survey Visit with a virtual Exit Conference via MS Teams on April 11, 2025. The activity boosted the preparation of eight academic programs for the upcoming multilevel evaluation by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), scheduled on May 19–23 and May 28–30, 2025.

Dr. Girley S. Gumanao, Vice President for Academic Affairs, opened the conference call by acknowledging the collective efforts of the DNSC community, “I know that everyone is tired but excited, still inspired, and eager to hear the good news, as well as the areas needing improvement.”

The meeting served as a venue for college internal accreditors (CIA) to present evaluation findings. Among the key programs assessed, the Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA) was commended for curriculum alignment and SDG-focused extension work, while also being advised to enhance documentation and research initiatives. The Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLED) earned recognition for active faculty-led research but was encouraged to improve its documentation and explore internationalization opportunities.

Across all assessed areas, common recommendations included updating outdated documents, refining policies, strengthening funding strategies, enriching impact tracking, improving library resources, and upgrading laboratory facilities.

On behalf of College President Dr. Joy M. Sorrosa, on official leave due to an academic mission in China, Dr. Melissa G. Dalumay delivered the formal acceptance of the evaluation results. The message acknowledged the value of the feedback, the exemplary practices identified, and the urgent need for enhanced documentation as DNSC moves toward official accreditation. Dr. Sorrosa expressed deep appreciation for the hard work and collaboration of everyone involved, underscoring the importance of both tangible contributions and the collective spirit that drives the institution forward.
