PANABO CITY – Demonstrating its commitment to disaster preparedness and community resilience, Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) participated in the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) for the 3rd Quarter of 2024. All employees, students, and visitors on campus performed basic earthquake protocols on September 26.

The alarm was activated at 9:00 AM, signaling the execution of the “duck, cover, and hold” drill. Members of the Student Emergency Response Team (SERT) and the College Disaster Resilience and Administration Committee (CDRAC) facilitated the evacuation to designated sites and led post-disaster measures.

The Medical Services Unit played a crucial role, particularly in applying basic first aid and conducting rescue simulations. DNSC consistently conducts these drills every quarter and has initiated various efforts to enhance community resilience, including strengthening its Bachelor of Science in Disaster Resiliency and Management program and supporting faculty and student activities.
