PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) participated in the 2nd Quality Assurance Summit and Conferment Ceremony for Accredited Programs and Institutions for 2026, organized by the National Network of Quality Assurance Agencies (NNQAA), Inc., the umbrella organization of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP).

Held from March 5 to 7, 2026 at the The Heritage Hotel Manila, the summit gathered representatives from state universities and colleges (SUCs) and local colleges and universities (LCUs) across the country. The event carried the theme, “Responsible Future: Quality Assurance in Action”.

The summit aimed to confer Certificates of Accreditation to higher education institutions whose academic programs and institutional quality systems were certified during the period 2022 to 2025. Representing DNSC at the national gathering was Dr. Ma. Melanie N. Edig, Director for Quality Assurance Division.

During the conference, experts and quality assurance practitioners discussed key issues shaping the future of Philippine higher education. Topics included Sustainability Agenda for Philippine Higher Education, The Revised Philippine Qualification Framework (PQF) and its referencing to the ASEAN Qualifications Reference Framework (AQRF), Transforming Education for New Generation of Learners, and Strategizing Quality Assurance towards the New Frontier.

Other sessions highlighted lifelong learning and microcredentials, updates and reforms in teacher education, internationalization and global benchmarks, and the integration of artificial intelligence and data analytics in higher education. Discussions also emphasized how quality assurance strategies can help institutions remain resilient amid disruptions and emerging educational challenges.

The summit also served as a platform for recognizing institutions that have successfully undergone accreditation processes. DNSC reported an accreditation standing of 13 out of 13 undergraduate programs accredited and all six eligible graduate programs maintaining accredited status, reflecting the institution’s sustained efforts toward academic excellence and continuous quality improvement.
