PANABO CITY – To prepare the teaching pool of Davao del Norte State College for the Academic Year 2024-2025, the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, in collaboration with the Human Resource Management Office, organized the 2024 Faculty Capability Building Series.
The series ran on August 20, 22, 29, 30, and September 2, 2024, at the DNSC Gymnasium. It was launched with a talk on Principles and Techniques for Non-Education Graduates, delivered by Ms. Dulce Marie M. Martinez, a faculty member from Davao del Sur State College.
This was followed by a lecture on Innovative Teaching Approaches and Methodologies by Ms. Fe Monique Musni-Tagaytay, a faculty member of the University of Southeastern Philippines. On the third day, Dr. Marleonie M. Bauyot from Ateneo de Davao University discussed Curriculum Development and Modes of Assessment.
On the fourth day, Ms. Nessa Maureen D. Cabiles of the Regional Trial Court of the Island Garden City of Samal talked about Time Management and Self-Care Practices for a Balanced Life, while Dr. Roar A. Callaman of USeP touched on Effective Teaching Practices in the Globalized and Inclusive Classroom.
The final speakers were DNSC’s Director for Instruction, Dr. Leonida P. Piorac, who presented the Foundations of Education and Ethics of Teaching, and the Health Emergency and Disaster Management Unit of Davao Regional Medical Center, which provided Emergency First Aid and Basic Life Support Training.
