PANABO CITY – Faculty members of Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) convened for the inaugural Faculty Kapehan on February 4, 2026, an initiative organized by the DNSC Faculty Association (DNSCFA).
The activity served as a platform for faculty members to communicate concerns directly to top management, promoting transparency, mutual respect, and shared responsibility within the institution.
In his welcome message, DNSCFA President Samuel S. Plando emphasized the importance of communication and trust in academic governance. “This forum affirms a fundamental principle: that meaningful governance in an academic institution thrives on communication and trust. When faculty and administration come together in dialogue, we move forward, not as separate sectors, but as partners working toward the same vision of excellence for Davao del Norte State College,” he said.
Dr. Leo S. Rayon, Jr., DNSCFA Secretary General, outlined the ground rules at the start of the session to ensure a professional and orderly exchange of views.
During the dialogue, faculty members raised several institutional, operational, and policy-related concerns. These included the need for facility improvements, the proper use of elevators with priority for pregnant personnel and persons with disabilities (PWDs), the absence of standardized request processes across offices, issues in class list verification such as students attending classes despite not being officially enrolled, faculty engagement in research, clarification of private practice limitations, and the equitable allocation of conference participation opportunities.
The administration acknowledged the concerns presented and conveyed its openness to feedback raised during the forum. The activity concluded with a shared commitment to sustain dialogue and collaborative efforts in support of the College.
