Panabo City – Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) took the preliminary step toward aligning its educational standards with the ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) framework by inviting Dr. Ronnie V. Amorado, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Mindanao (UM). The initiative was held on February 28, 2025, at the Gender and Development (GAD) Conference Room.
AUN-QA has established a quality assurance system designed to uphold and enhance teaching, research, and academic standards across member universities. To assess adherence to these benchmarks, higher education institutions undergo evaluations under two categories: AUN-QA Programme Assessment and AUN-QA Institutional Assessment.
College President Joy M. Sorrosa highlighted the institution’s enthusiasm for this endeavor, noting that while the DNSC community remains engaged in various academic and administrative responsibilities, the pursuit of quality enhancement is embraced as an integral aspect of institutional growth.
“For a Philippine higher education institution aspiring for global recognition, aligning with ASEAN and international quality assurance frameworks is crucial. Our goal is to integrate AACCUP, AUN-QA, PQA, and ISA standards to fortify institutional effectiveness and global competitiveness,” stated Dr. Ma. Melanie N. Edig, Director for Quality Assurance.
