Institute of Computing (IC) Programs

The BS Information Systems Program includes the study of application and effect of Information technology to organizations, Graduates of the program should be able to implement an information system, which considers complex technological and organizational factors affecting it. These include components, tools, techniques, strategies methodologies, etc.

Graduates are able to help an organization determine how information and technology-enabled business processes can be used as strategic tool to achieve a competitive advantage. As a result. IS professionals require a sound understanding of organizational principles and practices so that they can serve as an effective bridge between the technical and management/users communities within an organization. This enables them to ensure that the organization has the information and systems it needs to support its operations.

The BS Information Technology program includes the study of the utilization of both hardware and software technologies involving planning, installing information technology infrastructure that provides computing solutions to address the needs of an organization.
The program prepares graduates to address various user needs involving the selection, development, application, integration, and management of computing technologies within an organization.

INSTITUTE OF AQUATIC AND APPLIED SCIENCES (IAAS) PROGRAMS

The BS Agro-Forestry program is a multi-dimensional learning program designed to provide professionals with general competencies in the science, art, and business of managing and using trees and other woody perennials, agricultural crops and/or animals, and the soil-related ecosystem in the same unit of land, either zonally, mixed simultaneously, or sequentially for the twin purpose of conservation and socio-economic productivity.

The BS Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences program is designed to prepare well-rounded fisheries professionals with competencies in the principles and practice of fisheries science. It concentrates on sustainable aquaculture, capture fisheries post-harvest and aquatic resources and ecology. The graduates can contribute better to sustainable and responsible fisheries and total approach to fresh water and marine coastal management.

The BS Food Technology program focuses on a mix of pure and applied science, engineering, business, and entrepreneurial skills. It aims to produce professionals who have the capacity to apply science and technology and related fields of study in post-harvest handling preparation, processing, packaging, storage distribution, and marketing of food to ensure food and nutrition security, safety, quality, and environmental sustainability.

The BS Marine Biology  program is a four-year program that aims to develop graduates that will have a clear recognition and understanding of the dynamics of the marine life and its ecosystem through actual field/ hands-on experience which will provide the foundations for future careers in marine biology, conservation, oceanography, biomedicine, molecular biology, university teaching, fisheries, etc.

Social Work education in the undergraduate level shall be geared towards the preparation of students for generalist social work practice. Professional education in social work requires the acquisition and application of beginning level of knowledge, attitudes, values and skills in enhancing the social functioning of individuals, families, groups, and communities and linking people (client system) with needed resources, improving the operation of social service delivery networks and promoting social justice through organizing and advocacy.
