Davao del Norte State College is Hiring!  

PANABO CITY – Three teams from Davao del Norte State College won distinctions at the 2nd Dabaonon Research and Development Regional Congress, held at the Bulwagan ng Karunungan, Capitol Compound, Tagum City, on August 14, 2025. With the theme “Mainstreaming Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) for an Inclusive and Sustainable Davao Region”, the event highlighted evidence-based innovations and initiatives aligned with GEDSI principles.

Researchers competed across thematic clusters. In Cluster 2: GEDSI in Social Sciences and Humanities, the DNSC team of Shaira Lynn A. Ramos, Liezel T. Gasing, Krezzza Mae G. Baquero, and Julio Martin D. Bersamen, advised by Dr. Glenne B. Lagura, won 1st Place – Best Paper for their thesis, “Exploring the Dimensions of Perceptions on ‘Ayuda’ Programs of the Government”. The 3rd Place – Best Paper award was given to faculty members Felmark S. Levara and Mervin G. Gascon, PhD, for their study, “Navigating Successes and Challenges: An Assessment of the Schistosomiasis Control and Elimination Program (SCEP) in Carmen, Davao del Norte”.

In Cluster 3: GEDSI in Development Practice and Community Extension, Dr. Glenne B. Lagura led the winning project, “The Teaching Quality of Indigenous Education (TQIE): Training for Teachers Facilitating Indigenous Learners”, which received 1st Place – Best Paper. The project team included Dr. Marilou D. Junsay, Dr. Ailene B. Anonuevo, Dr. Erick S. Dalumpines, Dr. Charlo Bianci M. Guray, Dr. Nestle Joy R. Arguilla, Dr. Arnold S. Duping, and Dr. Ronald S. Decano, all of whom are faculty members of DNSC.

The 2nd Place – Best Paper Award under Cluster 3 was given to Gender-based Situationer in Panabo City, Davao del Norte: Basis for the Development of GBV Scorecard by Revrev A. Tio.

3rd Place – Best Paper, along with the Special Award for Most Shared Project under Cluster 3, was awarded to Project BABATA: A Community Outreach for Underprivileged Children, implemented by Christian C. Mahinay with team members Keanne Viealy Haro, Abigail Supino, and Jocemae Pusta, under the guidance of adviser Ms. Romalie Galletto.

The congress not only recognized academic excellence but also highlighted the importance of inclusive, socially responsible, and community-oriented research. Participants shared best practices, innovative approaches, and insights that advance gender equality, disability inclusion, and social equity across the Davao Region.
