PANABO CITY — Davao del Norte State College (DNSC), in coordination with the Department of Tourism (DOT) through the Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management program and Human Resource Management Unit, conducted a series of Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) Seminar-Workshops from September to October 2025 at the Gender and Development Conference Room.

The seminar-workshop gathered non-teaching and frontline personnel of the College to reinforce the principles of quality service that reflect the warmth, hospitality, and compassion of the Filipino people. Serving as resource speaker, Ms. Gladys Love E. Bacsa, BSTM faculty member, guided the participants through the core values of the FBSE, known as the 7 M’s: Malikhain, Makatao, Makakalikasan, Makabansa, Masayahin, May Bayanihan, and May Pag-asa.

These values, ingrained in Filipino culture, serve as the foundation of the FBSE program, which aims to elevate the country’s service standards.

During the closing session of the workshop series, College President Joy M. Sorrosa mentioned the significance of the program in reigniting national pride and dedication to public service, “Some would say, ‘Ang hirap mong mahalin, Pilipinas’… But as government employees and as proud DNSCians, we are called to a higher purpose. We do not love our country only when it is easy. We love it most when it is difficult. Our love is not conditional, it is an active choice. We are still proud to be Filipinos for we cannot collectively judge an entire nation on the mistakes of the few.”
