PANABO CITY — The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) conducted a Joint Technical Panel (TP) and Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) hybrid evaluation at Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) as part of the College’s application to offer two new graduate programs: the Doctor of Philosophy in English Language Studies and Teaching (PhD ELST) and the Doctor of Philosophy in Science Education (PhD Sci-Ed).

Representing the CHED Technical Panel was Dr. Derren N. Gaylo, while Dr. Ruby A. Serrano served as the representative of the Regional Quality Assessment Team. The evaluation assessed DNSC’s readiness and compliance in areas such as academic standards, faculty qualifications, curriculum design, learning resources, and research infrastructure.

In her message, DNSC President Dr. Joy M. Sorrosa emphasized the significance of the activity as part of the institution’s continuing commitment to academic quality and innovation, “Our pursuit of excellence is deeply rooted in our institutional culture. We continuously refine our academic delivery, ensuring that our programs, particularly graduate programs, are not only COPC-led but instructional. The insights from today’s evaluation, moving forward, strengthen our instruction, research, extension, production, infrastructure, and digitalization efforts.”

Through the establishment of new doctoral programs, DNSC continues to nurture scholars, researchers, and educators while expanding access to high-quality postgraduate education for future leaders and innovators.
