PANABO CITY – A benchmarking team from Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) visited Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) on November 27, 2024, to gain insights into the College Education Behind Bars (CEBB) program. The discussions were held at the Gender and Development (GAD) Conference Room.
The delegation included Dr. Maribel N. Zipagan, Dean of Teacher Education, Dr. Joan S. Sinagpulo, Chair of Teacher Education, JSINSP Elizer B. Bacog, Acting Jail Warden, and JO1 Edrenil C. Castillano from BJMP Region 8. They were welcomed by Ms. Florie Ann L. Fermil, Dean of DNSC’s Institute of Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Good Governance, along with faculty members of the DNSC – Social Entrepreneurship Technology and Business Institute (SETBI) – CEBB.
The key points of discussion centered on budget preparations and funding sources, faculty workload management, security measures during classes, and experiences in delivering instruction within the program.
This benchmarking visit highlights DNSC’s contribution in providing transformative education to underserved sectors, particularly persons deprived of liberty. By sharing its best practices and experiences, DNSC continues to promote the integration of inclusive education as a vital component of community development and social equity.
