PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College launched DNSC Community: Connect, Support, Thrive on October 15, 2025, recognizing the connection between mental health and academic success.
Organized by the Guidance, Counselling, and Testing Services (GCTS) under the Office of the Student Development and Services, in collaboration with the Institute of Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Good Governance (ILEGG) and the Gender and Development (GAD) Office, the event gathered students enrolled in the Understanding the Self course along with other interested participants.
The activity aimed to raise awareness on the importance of mental health, provide practical strategies for managing academic stress, and cultivate emotional resilience and self-care practices. More importantly, it highlighted how fostering mental wellness directly contributes to improving students’ academic performance.
Through interactive discussions and guided reflections, participants were encouraged to acknowledge mental well-being as an integral part of personal and academic growth. The session also emphasized the College’s ongoing commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive not only intellectually but also emotionally and socially.
