PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) took part in the ACHIEVE Alignment Session for Higher Education Institutions’ (HEIs) Key Implementers, hosted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region XI on December 18, 2025, at the Mergrande Ocean Resort, Davao City.

The alignment session was presided over by CHED XI Regional Director Maricar R. Casquejo, CESO III, and gathered higher education leaders and implementers across the region to discuss the ACHIEVE Strategic Agenda, CHED’s framework designed to address key challenges or “pain points” of higher education in the Philippines.

Representing the Philippine Association of State Universities and College Region XI were DNSC President Joy M. Sorrosa, and DNSC Director for Executive Affairs Melissa G. Dalumay. Other DNSC employees who were present in the meeting were Institute of Computing Dean Mark Van M. Buladaco, representing the Council of Deans for Information Technology Education Region XI, and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Program Chairperson Reban Cliff A. Fajardo, representing the Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators.

During the session, CHED XI presented the core pillars of the ACHIEVE Strategic Agenda, which emphasizes Advanced and Accessible Lifelong Learning; Centralized One-Nation Human Capital Development; Harmonized SDG-based Research and Innovation; Inclusive and Impact-driven Internationalization; Expanded and Integrated Real-time Data Collection and Analytics; Vitalized Policies, Internal Systems, and Governance; and Effective and Efficient Public Service.

The discussions highlighted the importance of coherence between national strategies and institutional implementation, particularly in strengthening access to quality education, improving governance and data-driven decision-making, and ensuring that research, innovation, and internationalization efforts are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
