PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) concluded its 2025 Faculty Capability Building Series, a five-day program designed to strengthen faculty competencies in preparation for Academic Year 2025–2026. Organized by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Human Resource Management Office, and the Faculty Association, the series ran on selected dates from July 24 to August 12, 2025, and featured a diverse lineup of topics led by educators and experts.

The training opened on July 24 with Dr. Leo D. Rayon, Jr. discussing Syllabus Development and PEOP Alignment, followed by Prof. Michael B. Dodongan on Table of Specifications and Test Construction. On July 25, Dr. Ailene Batulan-Añonuevo tackled Professional Ethics in Teaching, while Dr. Nancy P. Sumagaysay addressed Education and Inclusivity.

The third and fourth days, held on July 28–29, were led by Dr. Pedrito M. Castillo II, who explored the Principles and Frameworks of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) in Academic Settings, guided participants in Creating a Course and Program-Level Assessment Plan, and discussed Institutionalizing the Culture of Assessment and CQI.

The series concluded on August 12 with sessions on Academic Policies, IPCR, and Academic Monitoring Systems by the Academic Unit Heads, Updates and Challenges of Instructional Materials by Prof. Nancy R. Raiz, and an in-depth discussion on the DBM and CHED Joint Circular No. 3, s. 2022 by the Institutional Evaluation Committee, focusing on Reclassification of Faculty Position and the Criteria of Evaluation for Extension and Teaching Effectivity, presented by Dr. Marianne A. Rebortera and Mr. Bryan L. Macarayo.

Faculty participants shared positive feedback about the training. Phrencess KC Bañados Jumamoy, from the Institute of Teacher Education, described the series as an effective preparation for the new academic year, “refreshed and enhanced my knowledge and made me physically, emotionally, and mentally ready for the challenges and opportunities.”

Stacey Nicole Marie G. Monta of the Institute of Computing noted that as a newly hired faculty member, the activity deepened her understanding of academic policies, teaching strategies, and support systems, and helped her build a sense of belonging within the DNSC community.
